Frequently asked questions.

What should I expect from therapy?

People seek therapy to feel better, and one thing we know is that if we are not alone in the dark and tough times, we suffer less. The safe and confidential environment of therapy allows you to explore the difficult and challenging areas of your life, express emotions that perhaps have been stuck in you for many years, and create possibilities of happiness in your life that you previously before never thought possible. Therapy is a personal and unique experience for everyone, and we tailor it to suit your needs.

Is counseling confidential?

Yes! We are legally and ethically bound to adhere to strict California confidentiality laws. The fact we know each other, that you are in therapy, and ALL information you share with your therapist remains completely confidential. Therapy provides a safe container for you to explore thoughts and express feelings about all sorts of things without worry that someone else might find out. There are a few exceptions to these laws you need to know: If you intend to cause serious harm to yourself or someone else, we are mandated by law to inform the proper authorities to prevent that from happening. If there is suspected child abuse or elder abuse, we are mandated by law to notify the proper authorities to prevent that from occurring. The only other reason we would need to break confidentiality is if we are court-ordered to do so, which usually occurs if you are in a lawsuit and present your mental health as a factor in the lawsuit.

What will this cost me?

Our therapy fees range from $150-280 for a 50-minute session depending on your therapist.
Please inquire about a sliding fee scale according to your financial needs. Let us know if that is your concern and we will go from there. If we are unable to meet your needs, we have a network of referrals and other lower-fee options that we can offer you.
We do not currently take insurance but we are able to provide a superbill you can submit to your insurance company to see if they will reimburse you.
Our center policy is a 48-hour notice to cancel or reschedule. If you notify within less than 48-hours you will be responsible to pay the full rate for the session.

Where are you located?

Our center is located in Corte Madera, with easy access off the 101.
21 Tamal Vista Blvd. Suite #205, Corte Madera, CA 94925.
We also offer Telehealth sessions from the convenience of your own home servicing all of California.

Do you offer online therapy?

Yes. We offer both Telehealth phone and Zoom video sessions.
Telehealth can be a convenient option to receive counseling services when you are unable to attend in-person sessions. It can be suitable for individuals as well as couples. We will discuss your needs and see if the online environment is right for you.

Good Faith Estimate

To our clients and prospective clients:

Under the law, healthcare providers are required to give clients who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.

You can ask any healthcare provider you choose for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service, or at any time during treatment. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
